Increase stability
Is your car wandering or getting out of balance through the bumps? Try these approaches:
More impact
- Shock damping: lighter oil / larger/more piston holes
- Shock angle: inward at towers / outward at the arm
- Ride height: higher, sometimes higher in front than rear will help
- Caster: more
- Kick-up: more
Medium impact
- Camber: more
- Weights: lower center of gravity
- Wheelbase: longer at front / rear
- Tire inserts: softer, or with less reinforcement in the middle
- Bump steer: links more angled
- Tires: use ventilation holes
- Chassis/suspension flex: more
Less impact
- Diff fluid (gear diff): lighter / esp on 4WD center diff
- Anti-squat: less
- Rebound: less
- Shock type: bladder for low-speed bumps, emulsion for high-speed
- Anti-roll bar: thinner
- Droop: depends on the track - only testing will tell
